About Us

Welcome to PRANCE, Ohio’s new furry based club night meetup. Coined from our original Blackout Fur Meet, PRANCE is the continuation of Columbus’s premier furry dance event!Originally started by Ohio’s own Shutterbear as a one-off dance party event, we have quickly gained traction and become one of Columbus’s favorite night time furry events. Now joined by Koda, we intend to take our meetup to the next level, continuing holding events in Columbus, and potentially branching out to other cities in Ohio- and hopefully at some point, out of state!We are a fursuit/pup friendly event, and our attendees are encouraged suit up for a fun night on the dance floor!
We primarily cater to the 21+ crowd, as most of events are held at bars/night clubs, which in themselves are 21+ restricted.Our events showcase talented DJs from across the state, who are guaranteed to keep your feet moving all night long! And we are constantly looking for new DJs to showcase! If you express interest in playing at one of our events, please use our DJ application link!!We eventually will plan to accept donations! We are 100% non-profit and all proceeds will go towards helping make our event a better experience for all of you!We are also currently looking for volunteers to help run our events! Anything from helping moderate our group channel, to helping with our events hands on! If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to us!

Shutter

As a Columbus local and an integral part of the Ohio community, Shutter has brought us together many times for a wide array of exciting activities to enjoy in our own midwestern back yard! Regularly hosting events and meetups, and being on the board for Anthrohio, he is no stranger to throwing together an awesome night for furs and pups alike! He is our logistical lead and primary coordinator for the event!

Koda

New to the Columbus area, Koda, or as he's known behind the decks "K9INE", is bringing a new energy and atmosphere to the Ohio community. Being one of our resident DJs and playing events all across the states, his goal is to make sure everyone who shows up to our meet has nothing less than great time and leaves wanting to come back for more! He is the DJ coordinator and promotional lead, and helps out wherever else he can!

Steel Mill Tavern

Having served as the original outpost for the Blackout! parties, we are continuing to work with Steel Mill Tavern in Columbus to bring you PRANCE!
LGBTQ+ owned and operated, it offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for an extremely enjoyable night of grabbing drinks with friends, socializing, and getting down to some sweet tunes! The space has pool tables, dart boards, plenty of tables and places to sit, a great dance floor with tons of colorful lights, and a large outdoor and fenced yard with a covered patio - Perfect for cooling down!
The staff and non-fur patrons always love to see us and are very accommodating to our group, so please continue to show them the same respect that they show us! Continue reading below for other important and useful information on the venue!

- This event is 21+ and this restriction is controlled by the bar. We unfortunately do not get much say in what age demographic is allowed to attend. IDs are checked at the door.- Please consume RESPONSIBLY!! The bartenders tend to pour on the stronger side at this location, so please know your own limits! We really don't want to see people ruin their evening by getting sick!-The dance floor has low hanging disco balls and lots of flashing lights!! Please be mindful of tall ears and large tails!!- Fursuits and gear are weclomed and encouraged, but they are not necessary to attend!! HOWEVER, we are limited on the space we have available in relation to tote storage. There are areas in the bar where totes CAN be stored, however we cannot take up entire sections of the floor with them. It is highly recommended that totes be left in vehicles if possible.- The bar does not serve food, however we try to rent a food truck for those who would like to grab a bite during the meet. We will make postings if the food truck is not available.
